A reflective final day riding back to St Malo

We tried really hard to find a camp site, really we did but it would seem that La Rochelle does not open until June for camping. So we booked another B&B this time in L’lmpeau.

Our B&B turned out to be a bit of a find. It was an old farm house that had been converted into a B&B and purchased by a guy that used to be a receptionist at a hotel chain. Nice to think that anyone can make something if themselves if they just have the gumption to take a chance.

With today being our final day of riding we seem to be in reflective mode. We have solved all the worlds problems in 100 km from banishing religion to electrifying everything to creating tile shaped solar panels.

The Sat Nav app started to play Up so we pulled over in Saint-Georges-de-Pointindoux for a coffee and started discussing our best motorcycle gear purchases

Cats are great, they can sleep anywhere, this fella was asleep on the bar when we went in to pay the bill.

Best to just not ask about this photo.

We booked a hotel just outside St Malo and collectively decided we would go as cheap as possible as we had to get the ferry in the morning. Well, in France they donn no t get much cheaper that an F1 hotel. Think a box, stick a door at one end and it you have paid for the deluxe room a window at the other. They crest some more boxes and but a toilet in one that everyone shares and a shower in a another that everyone shares and you have accurately described an F1 hotel.

We locked the bikes up because the area seemed a little bit dodgy and went off to find a Buffalo Grill down the road. On the way we passed a load of hooded youths stunting motorbikes in the Main Street, yup it was a posh area. The Buffalo Grill had a 40 minute waiting time so we ventured off to find the Chinese Panda eat all you like buffet crossing the motorway to get there in what resembled the 1980’s game frogger.

The Panda was Massive and any kind of food you can think of was sold. We even tried escargot (snails). Think giants bogey’s and your not a million miles off. Edwards could not get enough of them.

We made our way to the ferry in the morning and ended up being those people you don’t want to be behind in the queue, there was something wrong with our booking so we just sat there for 20 minutes while a very polite French lady tried to sort the problem out.

And that’s it, another trip completed. Why everyone does not own a motorcycle (or several) is a mystery to us. Holiday heaven. We might even camp a bit more next time. Now we just need to sort out the credit card bill.
